Clear Water Retreat is a 4,200 square-foot cabin set on a granite outcrop overlooking Lake of the Woods, Ontario. Oriented to capture views of the lake and maximum sun exposure, the cabin’s exposed glulam skeleton allows for expansive spans, infilled generously with a wall of stackable sliding glass panels that open to a screen room beyond. These openings extend vertically into a vaulted double-height living space, shifting focus from the water toward the sky. Interior wood finishes—flooring, millwork, furniture—support the architectural design and leave the landscape as the dominant, lasting experience.
